At the moment I am really into these scrambled eggs from a local cafe - where they add truffle oil to the mix. Sooo sooo yummy!
My ideal brunch is fruit loaf with ricotta cheese. Best brunch of the week!

I'm with you on the avocado! Eggs, sourdough, avo and fetta are perfection ...
Now that is exceptionally difficult to answer! You see - I am probably an EXPERT at brunch. Brunch out that is - we head out almost every weekend to eat it at local cafes in my neighbourhood. I'm also completely spoilt for choice having Auction Rooms, Seven Seeds, Beatrix and Twenty&Six Espresso all within minutes from my house.
Now I'm not normally a person who likes fish - but this past couple of weeks I've been very tempted with offerings of house cured salmon at some of my favourite cafes. If it's cured in house, I find its often milder in flavour and much more delicate than something you can buy in a vacuum sealed package. So I've been very impressed by some recent brunches and I've discovered a new love for foods of the fishy variety :-D
I love a fresh, colourful mix of organic fruits- kiwi, grapefruit, mango, pomegranate, strawberries, blueberries, lady fingers and figs... topped with creamy natural yogurt, pepita seeds, walnuts and a quirky curl of honey!

My ideal brunch... yum cha!!! Dumplings and other assorted goodness in small packages. Perhaps not the healthiest of choices but oh so good.
Brunch isn't so much a celebration of food as a lovely aligning of events for me: the M magazine (ah, Melbourne), Libbi Gorr and the spot on the couch that's usually in the sun. I look forward to it all week.

Thanks for setting this up. I would say anything with croissants and good quality bacon rashers in it XD
I have a mission to try the fruit toast with jam, and soy lattes and every cafe in Melbourne. Who knew such a simple brunch could vary so wildly.
At the moment, I'm obsessed with making fresh corn polenta (a la this recipe: http://www.alexandracooks.com/2010/10/18/fresh-corn-polenta-—-where-have-you-been-all-my-life/ ), topped with parmesan cheese, avocado and a gooey poached egg. Amazing!!
i'm really diggin' french toast with loads of maple syrup and cream and a big pot of tea. Also like to nick some of my hubby's meal too for a savoury kick xx
Dear Marianne,
Since I discovered your blog a fortnight ago, I have loved your beautiful words and photos. I too love to display my 30s frocks around my house, much to the chagrin of my two male housemates =) Babycat is such a darling: I lost my own beloved cat two days ago after fourteen years together, so seeing a kitty with so much love and mischief is wonderful.
Now, brunch: as a vege, I do love a good Eggs Florentine (the spinach makes it healthy, right?), but my all-time favourite brunch in memory was home-made scrambled eggs and microwaved sweetcorn with white pepper out of a paper sachet, eaten in a crappy motel in Busselton, WA, whilst on an opera tour last year. It may not sound like much, but the three women I shared it with were some of the craziest and best I know, and honestly, that makes anything taste like heaven!
gotta say the classic bacon and eggs. nom nom!

My favorite brunch is from Coffee Club. It is 2 poached eggs on turkish bread with ham, avocado, melted cheese and grilled tomato. It's addictive and delicous and easy to replicate at home with my best girls

I can never go past Eggs Benedict, it's such a cute name after all!
