bye bye winter breakfasts

john-sandwich Well, the seasons were basically all over the place but I think we have waved bye bye to winter for another year now. Good time to enjoy the last of the winter breakfasts! I love the porridge at Clifton Hill's Mixed Business and John has declared the chicken sandwich he had as "the best ever... ever.". I wouldn't be able to add comment to that as I didn't get a bite. Not even a sniff. So. I really want to get back into making good breakfasts at home, too. Creamy, spiced porridge for winter, and now that it's summer, lots of fresh fruit and yogurt... although I do love my peanut butter toast! How on earth could I go without that? What are your favourite summery breakfasts? porridge

Ooh lovely photos. It's winter where I am but for summer, I love to make fresh fruit and vegetable smoothies, avocado on toast, cold frittatas and really just eggs all year round...bacon and rice all year round haha. I prefer savory breakfasts though a good waffle won't be rejected either :)

not much difference in what i eat - but in the place where: in summer i always eat my breakfast outside the house, in "the summer living room" under the tinroof.

These look absolutely delicious! How many fillings can you fit in one sandwich? I'm drooooling. :)

fresh fruit & yoghurt with some muesli/nuts/seeds or a bircher muesli style concoction are my usual summer-time breakfasts :)

I always eat peanut butter toast! I love that. Mmm, some nice creamy spiced porridge does sound good right now!

Mix tzadziki with olives and more cucumber, stuff it in a pitta with roasted peppers and hot sweet tea with cardamom and no milk. One of the best breakfasts ever

Hehe, I think I eat the same stuff from season to season - only the berries are from my freezer if it's winter! When I went to the U.S., I had porridge with the best accompaniments: butter, maple syrup and sugared nuts!!! Been craving for that bowl of porridge ever since. :D

In my country it's winter now, but it doesn't really matter for me. I love sandwiches, oatmeal and bakery with a cup of green tea all year round))

I eat lots of oatmeal breakfasts (as recommended in the food hourglass by Kris Verburgh). In winter warm with soy milk, fruits and nuts. At summer I like it with juice, yoghurt and fruits. Or french toast, or pancakes. That is when there is time to make breakfast :) Some days it's just a handful of nuts or a nutella sandwich. Oh, and coffee :)

In cold weather, I love pancakes and freshly baked muffins, warm rice pudding, garlic sausage and cheese, or perhaps even a huge treat like a cinnamon bun.

These look yummy!! I don't really change what I eat from one season to the next, it just depends on my mood. I eat wintry stuff in summer and vice versa!! But, it does feel good when you put winter stuff away knowing spring and summer are coming :))) x
